Master of Professional Accounting

The Master of Professional Accounting will prepare students for practice as a professional accountant. Students will develop analytical, general business management and problem-solving skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of accounting practice. Focus key areas include commerce, tax, financial management and public practice.

Designed to develop advanced knowledge and skills for accounting practice, students will be mentored by a senior business leader through the Executive Partners Program. Students also have the option of completing 150 hours of industry placement as an elective course.

This degree is accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia and satisfies the educational requirements for entry into both programs. UniSA is one of only five Australian universities to offer professional CPA papers within an accounting degree.

Entry Requirement

CIMA members and CIMA Exam Complete students –                                                  Eligible to directly join the programme.

CIMA Advanced Diploma students with 2 years relevant work experience –      Eligible to join a 6 month Graduate Certificate in Business (GCB) and join the programme with exemptions upon completion of the GCB.

Duration: 2 years

Intakes: February and July

*4 course credit exemptions are offered should the students wish to accept.However, this will reduce the program duration to 1.5 years
