Wisdom Business Academy Celebrates Top Performers at Wisdom Award Ceremony 2020
Wisdom Business Academy ─ the leading CIMA business school in South Asia ─ recently organized a ‘Wisdom Awards Ceremony 2020’ to recognize top-performing lecturers as well as students. While the academic staff attended physically, students virtually joined the occasion due to the prevailing situation in the country. Earlier this year, the institute itself was recognized with the Global Pass Rate Excellent Award 2020 for its legacy in delivering exceptional CIMA results and producing world prize winners.
Virtually joining the award ceremony, Irene Teng, Managing Director, Global Markets, ACIPA/CIMA stated, “I would like to congratulate the award recipients on behalf of CIMA. Our relationship with Wisdom has grown stronger year by year and Wisdom is the only CIMA Business School outside the United Kingdom to receive the Global Pass Rate Excellence Award, which is a testament to the Institute’s outstanding performance. We are pleased with how we have been able to go fully digital during the time when was pandemic was at a peak and conduct remote examinations to let students face the examination from the comfort and safety of their homes.” Sharing her thoughts, she further added that CIMA has introduced the CGMA Finance Leadership Programme (FLP), which is a short and online alternative for the CIMA professional qualification and CIMA has partnered with our hundred universities around the world who offer the FLP qualification.

Best lecturer awards under certificate level won by Mallik De Silva, Hashan Madushanka, and Tharindu Ameresekera; for the operational level Akila Gunarathna and Hashan Madushanka were recognized as best performers. Malaka Rubasinghe won the best performer award in the Management level while Akila Gunarathna won the strategic level and case study level for the year 2020.
Tuhan Sapumanage was recognized for winning the CIMA Global Student of the Year Award in 2020. Sanuja Rajasinghe and Ashane Yehara Perera were recognized for being ranked as Global 1st in November 2020 OCS and May 2021 MCS examinations respectively. Moreover, Selani Anudhara Indrapala, Prabodha Perera, Malithi Jayaratne, Ashane Yehara Perera, Nashitha Jazil, Asini Upesha Kodikara, Roshan Tharindu Bandara, Gayantha Kulasinghe, Dhanushka Nadeeshani Perera, Naadiya Khulusie, Awaad Zafir Millfer and M Qasim Iqbal were recognized for becoming CIMA local prize winners in Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Awards were also conferred to all the lecturers who contributed to the CIMA Pass Rate Excellent Award. Indoopa Arunod Samarasinghe and Yasindu Dulara Dissanayake were recognized for becoming the overall winning team and best in the country team in UniSA Case Competition Awards as well.
In a bid to acknowledge the tireless efforts of its dedicated lecturer panel, awards were given to Akila Gunarathna OSC & SCS lead lecturer, Hashan Madushanka MSC lead lecturer, and Dulinda Perera MSC lecturer for their contribution in producing CIMA Global Prize winners in November and May examinations.
The long-standing staff of the Institute Chulani Namila Wanasinghe, Manori Gunasekara, Fonsekage Sameera Madushan, Samith Priyantha Perera, and Ruwan Kumara Fernando were also recognized with Service Excellence Awards for their overall commitment and support.
